Connect Micazu to your own calendar

Is your holiday home listed on Micazu, the Dutch holiday rental platform, and do you also want to take bookings directly on your own website? An iCal connection keeps both calendars in step, without entering everything twice.

How it works

Micazu and your own site in one calendar

Micazu is a Dutch platform where owners list their holiday homes themselves. Many of them also have their own website, or advertise on Airbnb or Booking.com as well. The more channels you use, the greater the risk of the same week being let twice.

Micazu supports calendar syncing via iCal. You add Micazu’s export link to Bookedin and Bookedin’s export link to Micazu. Bookedin reads the calendar every fifteen minutes, so a booking made through Micazu soon shows in your own calendar. That keeps double bookings away without you keeping several diaries up to date.

Connect Airbnb and Booking.com to the same calendar too. Each platform gets its own import.

Step by step

Linking Micazu and Bookedin

Work from a computer; the Micazu owner environment is clearest there.

1

Copy the link from Micazu

Log in to your owner environment on Micazu, go to the section for iCal calendars and choose the option to export your calendar. Copy the link that appears. The Micazu user manual walks you through it.

2

Import it into Bookedin

In Bookedin open Plugins, Synchronisation and import, and click Import new calendar. Choose the calendar of your holiday home, paste the link and give the import a recognisable name, such as Micazu.

3

Add Bookedin to Micazu

Copy the export link of the same calendar in Bookedin and add it in Micazu as an iCal calendar to import. See also switching between .ics and .ical if a platform asks for a particular format.

Common mistakes

  • closePasting a normal Micazu page address instead of the iCal link
  • closeLinking the link of one house to the calendar of another
  • closeImporting only, so Micazu never sees your own bookings
  • closeExpecting prices to come along: they do not

How to get it right

  • checkCheck that the link contains .ics or ical
  • checkName each import after the house and the platform
  • checkAlways connect in both directions
  • checkManage your rates per channel separately
