Two calendars that read each other
Booking.com and Bookedin each give you an iCal link: an address that lists the booked and blocked dates of a calendar. You paste the Booking.com link into Bookedin and the Bookedin link into your extranet. From then on each side picks up the other’s busy dates and closes them.
Bookedin fetches your Booking.com calendar every fifteen minutes. How often Booking.com reads your link is up to Booking.com. It is not a full channel manager, and it does not need to be: if you rent out a handful of properties, it is the simplest way to prevent double bookings. Read more on calendar syncing.
Booking.com bookings in your calendar
A reservation made on Booking.com shows as busy in your Bookedin calendar after the next sync, with the status you choose.
Direct bookings closed on Booking.com
When a guest books through your own website, Booking.com sees those days as unavailable on its next check.
One overview
You see every booking per property in one calendar, whichever channel it came through.
Linking Booking.com and Bookedin
Use a computer for this; the Booking.com extranet is easiest to work with there. Allow about fifteen minutes per property.
Get the link from your extranet
In the Booking.com extranet, go to Rates & Availability and open the option to sync calendars. Under export, copy the iCal link of your property. The Booking.com user manual shows each step.
Paste it into Bookedin
In Bookedin go to Plugins, Synchronisation and import, and choose Import new calendar. Select the right calendar, paste the link, name the import and choose the status the bookings should get.
Add Bookedin to Booking.com
On the same Bookedin page, copy the export link of your calendar and paste it into the extranet where you import a calendar. That sends your own bookings to Booking.com. See exporting bookings.

Why add your own site
Commission you keep
Every guest who books directly saves you the platform’s commission. The commission calculator shows what that adds up to in a year.
Contact with your guest
A direct booking gives you the guest’s name and email address, so you can invite them back yourself next year.
Your own terms
On your own site your cancellation and payment terms apply, not the platform’s. See writing cancellation terms.
Booking.com stays your shop window
You do not have to choose. Let new guests find you on Booking.com and let returning guests book with you.
Payment at booking
Direct guests pay by iDEAL, Bancontact or credit card, including a deposit if you want one.

Frequently asked questions
No. A channel manager also sends prices and availability per room type to platforms through their own connection. Bookedin uses iCal: only booked and free dates go back and forth. For most holiday homes, apartments and B&Bs with a few properties, that is enough to prevent double bookings.
Bookedin fetches new bookings every fifteen minutes. The other way round, Booking.com decides how often it reads your link. So there is always a short gap between a booking and the dates closing on the other side; keep that in mind for last-minute bookings.
No. iCal only carries dates, not prices, discounts or guest details. You manage your rates in Booking.com and in Bookedin separately.
Yes. Every calendar in Bookedin has its own import and its own export link. Link the right extranet link to the right calendar for each property.
Booking.com offers calendar sync for properties such as holiday homes and apartments. If you do not see the option, ask Booking.com whether it is available for your type of property.
Nothing extra. Syncing is part of every plan, from Starter up. Current prices are on the pricing page and you can try it free for fourteen days.
